‘Common Wealth Games 2010’, scheduled in our city in the month of October, require thousands of children from Schools all over Delhi for the ‘Opening and Closing Ceremonies’ and we are the fortunate ones to be selected for auditions for the same.
On Wednesday, February 17, 2010, the auditions for the same were held at Mt.Abu School, Rohini, at 10.30 am.
146 students from Classes VII, VIII & X went for the same along with 4 teachers ,Ms. Archna Chatterjee, Ms.SanjanaAnand, Ms. Aggarwal and Mr. Karan , respectively.
During the auditions, the students were divided into 4 groups and the choreographer made the children do a few dance movements and the children were then further selected/divided into 3 groups- Red, Blue and Yellow, according to their sense of rhythm, music and dance (level of performance).
Regarding the criteria of selection for the Ceremonies, the sources there said that they had short-listed the students and would let the School authorities know in the month of March as to how many are finally going to perform from our School and the rehearsals would start from April itself.
We came back with a positive note and an assurance from Mr. Jagrit Anand, Asst. Project Officer-Ceremonies , that our School is a part of the Ceremonies- Common Wealth Games 2010.
