Discourse On Structural Leadership

KIIT world school(New State Academy) took a tremendous initiative to popularize the idea of ‘Leadership in Education Administration & development’. Prof. Hyle and Prof. Rhonda, eminent educationists from University of Texas USA and Mr. Suraj Prakash former principal CRPF school exchanged their views with around 25 principals of leading schools of Delhi, on the challenges of school administration, need for affiliation and certification of the leaders, complexity of the role of leaders in coordinating with the staff and the children, in improvement of the academic quality, interaction with other schools etc. All the members realized the dire need of formal, professional training, to make the leadership more structured for the competitive world today. The foreign delegates shared the positive aspects of the leadership in US. The school Principal Mrs. Sangeeta Bhatia also promoted the idea of armored leadership. The meeting ended on an optimistic note with all the members looking forward at the bright prospects of leadership program in India.

Workshop - International Biodiversity and Night Vision of the Sky

Dr. B.K. professor from Vigyan Prasar, Nodia Science & Technology Department enlightened students on biodiversity, its importance and need to conserve it. He also discussed about the ways of conserving biodiversity like establishment of wildlife sanctuaries, national parks and biosphere reserves. He sensitized students about the biotechnological applications like production of transgenic plants. Some ethical issues related to this technology were also discussed.

Dr. Arvind introduced the students with the practical knowledge of astronomy. He enlightened students about various facts about Pole Star and Sun. After the interaction, students were taken for night vision and various stars and planets like Venus, polestar, Saturn etc through telescope were shown to them.

Refreshers Training Workshop 'Globe Program'

Refresher Training Workshop 'Globe Program' was held at Indian Social Institute, Lodhi Road on 10-04-10 to promote the schools to participate in the globe program and the competitions organized by them on 22 April, 2010 i.e. Earth's Day.

The workshop aimed to encourage schools to be active participants of Globe Program and learn more and more about their environment. An appeal was made to the students to register themselves for various competitions like poster making competition, project or presentation on hydrological investigation etc.

First Inter House Competition

The first inter-house competition of the session 2010-11 'Laughter Challenge' was held in the school premises on 9th April 2010. There were four participants from each House ... 2 from senior classes and 2 from junior classes. Following are the names of participants from each house:

All the participants were very enthusiastic and put their best efforts to make spectators laugh. The best moment of the event was 'NAMASKAARAM' done by praveen Sharma of Drona House. The performance was judged on four parameters i.e. Theme, dialogues, presentation and humor element. The results of the competition are as follows:
