Eco club members take out plantation drive for Commonwealth Games

An Eco club activity was organized on 3rd September, 2010 by i-dream in the school campus to promote low carbon practices and plantation drives under the programmes for Commonwealth Games, 2010.

The activity was divided into 2 segments i.e. a workshop and a plantation drive.

The workshop was basically to train the students of Eco Club as Ambassadors to promote low carbon practices and to teach how to lead a green life. The issues discussed in the workshop were the causes and effects of climate change, methodology of energy saving practices. It also made everybody learn to calculate their Carbon Footprint i.e. the amount of Co2 emissions by the activities performed everyday.

In the plantation drive and in an effort to contribute towards the cause promoting a green life, the students of the Eco Club and the teachers, along with the Vice Principal planted Saplings in the School Garden.

The event was a huge success, and the students and as well as the teachers were very enthusiastic and pleased to understand the importance about the fragility of our Eco System. All of them are more aware about the consequences of the importance of the Green Life and its significance in the everyday working in our society.

Eco Club managing e-waste


The club children of the school placed an electronic recycle bin in the school premises. The children motivated the students and the staff to recycle the electronic gadgets. The response was really good. More than 50 mobile phones and a huge number of batteries and chargers were put inside the bin.

Inauguration of Vital Club

Vital Club was Inaugurated on 23 Jul 2010 in the Conference . Students of the club stated the objectives of club with the help of a skit & powerpoint presentations. The Club has been divided into three groups i.e., Mendel, Marshall, and Fleming. Members of these teams were also announced and badges were given to them by the Principal.

Inter House Competition - Primary Wing



An Inter house competition named 'Nukkad Natak' was organised in Basketball area for class V. Almost 8-10 representatives from each house performed the play.

Bhrigu - III Position (Jal hi jeewan hai)

Dadhichi - II Position (Dharti bachao)



Judgement was passed by Ms. Inderpreet and Ms. Tripti on the basis of theme, co-ordination, props and expression, etc. It was nice to see all new participants coming up with wonderful messages for the masses. The audience not only enjoyed but learnt a lot and promised to follow the same. The messages included important issues like save water, save electricity, don’t waste food and keep Delhi clean.

Poetry Recitation Competition


Poem Recitation Competition
Class II (14.7.10)

Today Poem Recitation competition for class II was held in the lion and mouse area. Two students from each section participated and were judged by Ms. Shruti Sharma .All the selected students participated with enthusiasm. Students recited poems on environment (the theme for this month). Astha Kapoor bagged 1st position by reciting a poem-Save Earth with confidence. The result was as follows.

Paper Bag Decoration


Paper bag decoration activity was held in class I. Students decorated paper bags using ice cream sticks, mirrors, glitters etc. They decorated bags with great joy showing their creativity. Students presented decorated bags as a token of love to the school faculty.

Collage Making Competition

Based on the theme of this month i.e. 'Environment', Collage making activity was done in class II. All students did this activity with great enthusiasm. Students made beautiful collage by pasting pictures showing conservation of environment.
