Eco club members take out plantation drive for Commonwealth Games

An Eco club activity was organized on 3rd September, 2010 by i-dream in the school campus to promote low carbon practices and plantation drives under the programmes for Commonwealth Games, 2010.

The activity was divided into 2 segments i.e. a workshop and a plantation drive.

The workshop was basically to train the students of Eco Club as Ambassadors to promote low carbon practices and to teach how to lead a green life. The issues discussed in the workshop were the causes and effects of climate change, methodology of energy saving practices. It also made everybody learn to calculate their Carbon Footprint i.e. the amount of Co2 emissions by the activities performed everyday.

In the plantation drive and in an effort to contribute towards the cause promoting a green life, the students of the Eco Club and the teachers, along with the Vice Principal planted Saplings in the School Garden.

The event was a huge success, and the students and as well as the teachers were very enthusiastic and pleased to understand the importance about the fragility of our Eco System. All of them are more aware about the consequences of the importance of the Green Life and its significance in the everyday working in our society.
